The machining centres in the VFB-R range include machines in a moving column design with a rotary table which can be moved in a lateral direction for the 5-sided machining of medium-sized work pieces in a single clamping operation. Thanks to the table, which is always fully supported, even high work piece weights are feasible with consistent dynamics. Special high-speed rotary tables even allow for the execution of combined milling and turning operations.
For the various machining tasks, you can choose between the high-performance geared variants with SK 40 or SK 50 tool holders or a motor spindle variant with HSK tool holder.
The smallest machining centre, the VFB long version with column which can move in a lateral direction, can also be converted into a VFB-R 5-axis machining centre through adaptation of a rotary table.
The machines are equipped with a horizontal/vertical swivel head (H/V head), a left/right swivel head (L/R head) or a traditional vertical head as required.
The special positioning of the H/V head swivel point well in front of the spindle nose yields a very large usable work area.
A controlled L/R milling head also makes it possible to machine the front sides or perform operations on oblique planes. In combination with the rotary table, almost any point on a hemisphere around the table can be reached.
Thanks to the narrow design, the head can be traversed a long way downward onto the table surface if set in a sideways position.
If the maximum stiffness is required, then the simple vertical milling head is the best choice. The necessary flexibility can be achieved through the use of a rotary table and trunnion table here.
